The Torbay Court is well situated in a quiet cul-de- sac about 200 yds from sea front the railway station is about 10 mins walk away. The room could have done with decorating, however it was clean and tidy, the bar and dining room are clean well decorated and spacious, with good comfortable furniture throughout, all the staff were pleasant and very friendly.the entertainment was good easy listening. All in all the Hotel is well priced and comfortable with good food and entertainment. My stay was for 1 night bed and breakfast in a single room cost £35.
The seagulls are a a rowdy bunch, but that's not the hotels fault, after all it is the seaside.
Nice older style English tourist hotel with friendly staff. I would stay there again if I came to Torbay.
Like a time warp experience of the 1960s; fascinating, I didn't realise they still existed.
Meals are taken en masse at one time only like feeding time at the zoo. No sound proofing in the rooms. Because Hotel is in administration it cannot accept credit cards.
It was convenient
It was a bit shabby and dated and could do with a make over but for £35 I didn't expect too much
Evening entertainment was excellent on two nights of our stay, staff were superb.
good value for money and food great waitress service very good
every thing o k
The staff were very helpful.
The TV in the room was situated on the but low enough so that anybody of above average hight would hit their head
We were on a one-night short weekend break with friends and weren't actually at the hotel for long - it suited our purpose.
The shower was lethal! Either stone cold or ninety-degree burn inducing.
The waitress serving breakfast was very pleasant.
Shower very poor. Breakfast only served in one sitting at 8.30am. Front door locked when we returned at 11.45, had to wait for an old lady to come from across the road in her nightdress to unlock the door.
Its position - convenience to places. Having entertainment. The price of single rooms were the same as one person in a double/twin - excellent.
The half size wardrobes.
Ok for a one night stay would not recommend to young couples. Breakfast was nice.
Bathroom was dirty
The hotel is in need of a refurb the bed was so uncomfortable, the bedrooms look like there back in the 80's. Housekeeping walking into my room both morning when I was asleep.
Friendy and very helpful staff at breakfast
I was concerned when phone to pay on arrival twice. Also a mistake meant we did not get the rooms ordered however the next morning all was forgiveno by the attitude and efforts to please by the morning staff. the hotel is in need of renovation. We only stayed one night and for the money it served our needs.
Excellent value for money, room with a bath and a shower, good breakfast and very nice staff, especially the Lady serving breakfast.
We stayed one night at this hotel and it was diabolical. We booked 1 double and 2 single rooms. When we arrived at reception with our confirmation they informed us we had booked 3 singles when we clearly had printed confirmation which rooms were booked. They found us a double on the top floor which on inspection we refused to stay in as the smell was disscusing and it looked like somthing from 1920. The next spare double they showed us was no better. We ended up in a twin and 2 singles. The reception was full of mobility scooters being charged up and the entertainment was rubbish. We were informed by reception this hotel is in administration and was being run by the bank. Breakfast was only ok but the breakfast staff were pleasent.enough. If our arrival had not been so late at night I would have refused to stay here and would have looked for somewhere else. The seaguls were a nightmare and kept us awake most of the night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
